AMVOQ launches Certified Pre-Owned program for independent dealers

The Used Car Dealer Association of Quebec (AMVOQ) has introduced the first Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicle program for independent dealers.

The program will launch in March of 2014, making AMVOQ the first organization in Canada to offer this type of program to independent used car dealers.

The AMVOQ Certified Pre-Owned program offers consumers peace of mind when buying a pre-owned vehicle. The AMVOQ CPO program will meet and even exceed actual standards set by the best programs of its kind in North America.

"Most manufacturers already have a certified pre-owned program and it is time that our industry provides its own tool for our members to increase the level of consumer confidence," said Steeve De Marchi, executive director at AMVOQ.

Potential buyers can benefit from doing business with an AMVOQ member participating in the program to purchase their next certified vehicle.

The program will offer many advantages such as:

*Thorough mechanical inspection (154 points)

*Reconditioning of the vehicle (repair or replacement of defective or worn parts)

*Extended warranty

*Roadside assistance

*Access to a central provincial registry

*Vehicle history report (CarProof)

*Exchange warranty

In addition, random inspections will be conducted on certified vehicles by independent mechanical workshops.

The AMVOQ CPO program will be regulated and supervised by the association’s management.
