Agri-Cover, Inc. has announced that it has achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification from BSI, Inc., a quality management systems registrar.
“Agri-Cover has always been committed to providing the highest levels of service excellence,” stated Neil Fuchs, Agri-Cover’s director of operations. “We are very excited to have achieved the certification to ISO 9001:2000. This demonstrates that our focus remains on quality, world-class performance, and continuously monitoring our business operations to ensure that we deliver on the promises we make to our customers, employees and vendors.”
The ISO 9001:2000 standards, released in December 2000 as the successor to ISO 9000:1994, is an internationally recognized quality management system standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). To be certified to the standard, companies must implement a quality management system (QMS) embracing the activities of the company from staff training to taking the instruction from the customer, the design and development of products, the purchasing of materials and services and the delivery of the products and services. This is done using Plan-Do-Check-Act principles and Process Management, demonstrating steps taken to provide customers the services pledged by Agri-Cover, Inc. Certification to ISO 9001:2000 reinforces to customers through an independent third-party, that Agri-Cover Inc. operates a QMS in accordance with the standard.
“Considering this was our first attempt, developing a quality management system was an incredible undertaking,” said Barry Hazer, Agri-Cover’s quality manager. “Agri-Cover’s employees laboured diligently to document their processes, while other employees also performed internal audits to ensure conformance. We are very proud to have gained certification.”
