The Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) has announced its line-up of speakers to keynote the Aftermarket eForum near Chicago, Ill., July 17-18.
Gary Shapiro, CEO and president, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), will kick off the event with his thoughts about the convergence of technology and the automotive industry.
Shapiro, author of the New York Times best-seller, “The Comeback: How Innovation Will Restore the American Dream,” will discuss how consumer electronics and the connected car will impact the future of the automotive industry.
In addition, the eForum agenda will include presentations from respected leaders in IT, logistics, e-commerce and government. Those scheduled to appear include:
Joseph LaFier, senior vice president and CIO, Polk, who recently completed a total transformation of their information technology infrastructure. LaFier will explain how they crossed the IT modernization chasm that confronts every automotive company.
Ray Reulbach, vice president, customer solutions, UPS, where he directs solution development and delivery activities for clients in the high tech and industrial/automotive manufacturing sectors, as well as UPS global accounts.
Michael Chagrin, United States Department of Transportation and Intelligent Transportation Society of America, who will explain the national programs and policies that will have a lasting impact on the automotive industry and the aftermarket.
“We are extremely proud and excited about the speakers we have confirmed for the Aftermarket eForum,” said Scott Luckett, vice president, technology standards, AAIA. “The keynote presentations are designed to appeal to a wide audience of business and IT decision-makers. But, even more important, they are each qualified to present new ideas from outside our immediate industry – ideas that will be explored in greater detail during the breakout tracks and other segments of the agenda.”
The Aftermarket eForum is the only industry event that focuses exclusively on identifying the e-commerce and IT solutions and practices that will increase sales, add to the bottom line and separate winning aftermarket businesses from the competition.
The 12th eForum will return to the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont, Ill., July 17-18. The program is designed to appeal to aftermarket manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, distributors, service operators and related service and solution providers.
