Advance Auto Parts and eBay Motors…

Advance Auto Parts and eBay Motors Join AAPEX Electronic Retailing Breakfast Panel

Scott Bauhofer, senior vice president and general manager, e-Commerce for Advance Auto Parts, and Famous Rhodes, director of eBay Motors, will participate in the e-Tailing panel during the 2010 Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) Executive Breakfast just before the opening of the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) 2010.
The annual AASA Executive Breakfast, “Aftermarket e-Tailing – Who’s Minding the Store?,” features an in-depth discussion of the impact of online marketplaces on the automotive aftermarket and will be held 7 – 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2., at The Venetian, Ballrooms G-I.
Other confirmed panellists include:
* Randy Buller, founder of The Parts Authority;
* Shane Evangelist, CEO of U.S. Auto Parts Network; and
* Steve Frazier, vice president — auto and industrial, Amazon.com.
“Suppliers are identifying the most strategic ways to position themselves to take advantage of the aftermarket e-tailing trend, including preparing and delivering application and marketing data, ensuring their brands are well represented and continuing to service traditional distribution channels,” noted Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA. “The addition of Advance Auto Parts and eBay to the Executive Breakfast panel strengthens the core discussion about e-tailing and the aftermarket by giving attendees a broad range of viewpoints about and approaches to this extremely important topic.”
From their various business perspectives, the panellists will address:
* Product comparison models
* Virtual vs. actual inventory
* The “buy online and pickup at the local store” model
* Pricing management
* Supplier and brand marketing/selling information in online stores
* Changing fulfillment models for traditional warehouse distributors
Ernst & Young is the exclusive sponsor of the AASA Executive Breakfast during AAPEX.
