AAPEX adds interactive attractions, giveaways for 2026 show

AAPEX will introduce several new interactive attractions at its 2026 automotive aftermarket trade show, including daily prize giveaways, automotive-themed escape rooms, a NASCAR simulator and displays of vehicles featured in movies and television.

Organizers said the additions are intended to increase attendee engagement while complementing the event’s business, networking and training activities.

“These activations are part of our efforts to evolve the show and keep it fresh every year,” said Auto Care Association vice-president of trade shows and community engagement Mark Bogdansky. “We’ve made a lot of changes to the show to facilitate the business side of the event; these activations add fun to the mix and keep attendees engaged on the show floor.”

Daily giveaways will include a choice between a Rolex watch package or trips to major sporting events on Tuesday and Wednesday. A Ford F-150 will be given away Thursday.

The show will also feature a NASCAR simulator, with the fastest participant each day receiving two tickets to a NASCAR event.

Two automotive-themed escape rooms will test participants’ knowledge of vehicle repair and the automotive supply chain, while the Optimum Shop game will challenge attendees to operate a simulated repair shop while managing inventory, customers, cash flow and supply chain disruptions.

Several vehicles featured in movies and television will be displayed, including KITT from Knight Rider, the Ford Gran Torino from Starsky and Hutch, the DeLorean from Back to the Future and vehicles from Barbie, Fast and Furious and Wayne’s World.

AAPEX is also introducing a Part Art Lounge, where two artists will create mixed-media pieces using donated automotive parts. The finished works will be auctioned, with proceeds supporting the University of the Aftermarket Foundation.

“AAPEX 2026 is going to look and feel different, and I think attendees will notice that the moment they walk through the doors,” said MEMA Aftermarket Suppliers vice-president of events Liz Goad. “We’ve put a lot of thought into creating an exciting and engaging environment that offers something for everyone. At its heart, AAPEX is about bringing our industry together to learn, discover new opportunities, build relationships and do business, while celebrating the people and connections that make the aftermarket such a special community.”

The AAPEX mobile app will also add turn-by-turn navigation to help attendees locate exhibitor booths. Registration for automotive aftermarket professionals is $100.
