MEMA, The Vehicle Suppliers Association, has appointed Walter Rentzsch as vice-president of market intelligence. He will lead the transformation of the association’s research and insights group into a more proactive intelligence engine supporting members and strengthening advocacy work.

A strategy executive with more than 15 years of experience in global automotive and mobility markets, Rentzsch has worked with C‑suite leaders to shape enterprise strategy, manage performance and guide large‑scale transformation. He is known for translating complex market trends and emerging technologies into actionable plans and is a frequent speaker on the future of mobility.

MEMA chief executive officer Paul McCarthy said Rentzsch’s experience and approach to data‑driven insights will benefit supplier members and help ensure the association’s intelligence work reflects real‑world industry conditions.

Before joining MEMA, Rentzsch spent nearly 16 years at Roland Berger in roles including senior consultant, senior project manager and director in the automotive practice. He led business development efforts, managed enterprise relationships and supported OEM and supplier clients through strategy and transformation programs.

Rentzsch holds a PhD in engineering from the University of Cambridge, a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Hagen and a master’s degree in engineering from RWTH Aachen University.
