Lankar software remains the same even with name change

Lankar Shop Management System has changed its company name to Autogence Inc., a re-branding that will leave the Lankar name and products intact, according to the Concorde, Ont.-based maker of management solutions for service providers.

Danny Lankar, president of Autogence, said all the company’s product line will still be known under the Lankar name and new products are scheduled to be released under that name, including Lankar Pro, Lankar Enterprise and Lankar Light. The Autogence name, a combination of automotive and intelligence, is meant to reflect the company’s move to develop new software and management solutions for the service provider industry, but under the Autogence name.

“The only issue we had was our product was called Lankar and the company was called Lankar, and we did not want to bump into a branding issue,” Lankar said. “So what we have done is taken the approach of being Lankar, made by Autogence Inc.”
