Career Awareness Project — It’s Underway!

The research and development of career awareness products for the repair and service industry is well underway.

The project advisory committee has provided much expertise to the development process and has identified over 45 occupations to be included in the materials.

Since the initial meetings in November, a professional writing team and a marketing/communications firm have been hired and are making progress.

The advisory committee includes 20 individuals representing high school transportation departments, career information industry, collision repair industry, apprenticeship, colleges, repair and service industry, industry associations, provincial ministries of education and HRDC.

Response to this project has been very positive as industry recognizes the need to attract more young people to the industry.

The career awareness products to be produced will include a reference guide, facilitator guide, poster, web site and a CD-ROM.
