Cascar Not Returning to Kawartha…

Cascar Not Returning to Kawartha Speedway

CASCAR has announced that it will not be returning to Ontario’s Kawartha Speedway in 2004. According to a report on the sanctioning body’s website, the news comes as a surprise after Kawartha’s March 23rd press conference, which involved CASACAR equipment and driver Mark Dilley as well as series representative Richard Coughlin address those in attendance.

“It’s a strange situation for sure,” stated Richard Coughlin, director of sales and marketing for CASCAR. “They knew everything there was to know about hosting a CASCAR show long before the press conference. We’ve had a clear program on the table with them for months, and we met a week prior to the press conference to go over it once again. However, following the press conference we were advised that they had decided to take a different direction and would not be hosting any CASCAR events. It’s particularly frustrating given the amount of time and effort CASCAR dedicated to helping them get the track open again.”
