Honda Announces Ignition Switch Recall

Honda Motor Company has recalled approximately 1.3 million 1997 to 2000 Accord, Civic, Prelude, CRV and Odyssey vehicles and some 1999 Acura TL and 1997 to 1999 CL coupe models to replace faulty ignition switches. According to Honda, premature contact wear in the switch assembly can cause engine stalling and a hard-start condition. The recall is Honda’s largest ever; owners will be advised by mail to take their vehicles to local dealerships for repair.
