
Data analysts at Frost & Sullivan expect upwards of US$400 million in service work to be booked online worldwide.
Europe leads the way in what Frost & Sullivan calls “the Uberization of vehicle services.” There is growing consumer acceptance there of services like WhoCanFixMyCar, Auto Scout, and Auto Butler. In North America, the comparable services are Open Bay and Repair Pal.
In 2018, the total amount of service booked online in the U.S., the U.K., France, and Germany stood at US$278 million. In 2019, those countries on track to hit US$368 million in online bookings.
The statistics came up during a recent Frost & Sullivan webinar, “Automotive Aftermarket Transformation: 5 Growth Opportunities,” hosted by Kumar Saha, research director, global automotive aftersales.
