Young pros host AI learning day

As artificial intelligence gains a deeper foothold across all industries, young automotive aftermarket pros got an in-depth look at how the technology is and can still impact this industry.
The Young Professionals in the Auto care sector, the networking arm of under-40 industry professionals, gathered in Toronto at The Drake Hotel for the YPA Learning & Leadership Social. They heard Kumar Saha, U.S. vice president and Canadian managing director of global automotive data firm Eucon, break down what AI means in the broad sense and for the aftermarket.
He explained where we are on the artificial intelligence spectrum, how we got here and where it could be headed. Saha broke down myths versus realities when it comes to AI, key applications in the aftermarket — where it works with vehicles, in the shop and in businesses — where it’s limited, how shops are currently using the technology and more.
Attendees then broke into groups to tackle how AI can or would play a role in the aftermarket in various scenarios. Each group talked about the impact of AI on the aftermarket and shared ideas.
Once each group shared their ideas, the learning portion wrapped up and headed to the social portion of the day. YPA members got the chance to network and socialize with their peers in what is, for many, the last opportunity to see friends and colleagues before the holidays.
Very informative and we need to get as much as information as possible
