A new, modern warehouse with greater space for its growing business will help Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. expand its market presence in eastern Canada, the company has announced.
The new 110,000 square foot (10,219 square metre) warehouse facility opened in the Montreal suburb of Laval last week, said Eric Dedoyard, Director of Sales for Yokohama Canada.
The new facility is near the junction of highways 440 and 13 and close to the major transportation routes serving all of Quebec and the Atlantic provinces as well as eastern Ontario.
“Our new offices and warehouse space will help us expand our market presence and better serve our dealers in the region,” said Dedoyard.
“It is another important step in building the Yokohama brand in Canada.”
The new facility is the latest in a series of moves designed to build the company’s product portfolio and retail presence in Canada.
In the past year, Yokohama Canada has introduced the complete line of ADVAN high performance tires, negotiated retail sales agreements with the Mazda and Toyota dealer networks in Canada, and unveiled two new lines of winter tires (Yokohama Ice Guard IG20 for cars and Yokohama Geolandar I/T G072 for light trucks and SUVs).
The new facility is 47 per cent larger than the previous facility in Montreal’s west end, where the company had been located for 15 years.
Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. markets and distributes a full line of tires for high performance, passenger car, light truck, and commercial truck applications, as well as off-the-road tires for mining and construction applications.
It maintains distribution centres across Canada to serve more than 800 independent tire dealers.
