
PPG Canada took the top prize at Uni-Select’s recent Canadian Supplier Award ceremony, held as part of Industry Week in Las Vegas.
PPG Canada won the Diamond Award, Uni-Select’s top supplier award, for overall sales and marketing efforts.
Uni-Select also handed out awarded three “Golden Ally” awards, aimed at recognizing individual companies that excelled in different areas.
Tenneco received the Golden Ally award in the sales tools category for developing resources for independent jobbers and auto repair professionals.
Shell Canada received the Golden Ally award for marketing for initiatives which boosted product awareness and sales.
Gates Canada won the Golden Ally award for training and technical support for a slate of new and innovative training materials.
Blue Streak-Hygrade Motor Products won the Tech Savvy award for new technology. Blue Streak’s user-friendly I.T. program was launched to support sales development at the jobber and repair shop level.
Finally, in recognition of sales growth, three suppliers were given the Achiever Award: Wilson Auto Electric in the automotive parts category; AkzoNobel Coatings in the paint and bodyshop equipment category; and SureWerx in the tool and equipment category.
Eleven suppliers were recognized for having been Uni-Select partners since the company began some 50 years ago. Awarded were: Kleen-Flo Tumbler Industries Limited, Phillips & Temro Industries, SKF Canada Limited, Docap Distribution, Federal-Mogul Motorparts Corporation, Valvoline Canada, Tenneco, Mann+Hummel Filtration Technology Canada ULC., 3M Canada Company, Exide Technologies Canada Corporation, and PPG Canada.
