TriCan Tire Distributors, Inc. Expands Its Presence in Canada

TriCan Tire Distributors, Inc. (“TriCan”) announced that it has acquired the wholesale distribution business of Kipling Tire Co. LTD. based in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada.  This acquisition will further strengthen TriCan’s presence in the Southern Ontario region.  TriCan began its expansion in Ontario and Eastern Canada by acquiring Regional Tire Distributors Inc. (“RTD”) in the Ontario and Atlantic regions in May 2013.  Last December TriCan also acquired Vaughan, Ontario based distributor Wholesale Tire Distributors Inc.

Kipling Tire Co. LTD has operated as a retail-wholesale business, servicing both the needs of the retail consumer and other tire retailers, since 1982.  On the wholesale side of the business, Kipling Tire distributed product from its Etobicoke Ontario facilities to close to 400 accounts in Southern Ontario.  Kipling Tire Co. LTD’s retail operations were not acquired by TriCan and will continue to operate as a standalone business unit under its current ownership.

TriCan Tire Distributors is an independent supplier of tires to the Canadian replacement tire market.  It operates 23 distribution centers in Canada, servicing tire retailers from coast to coast in Canada.  TriCan Tire Distributors employs approximately 350 employees in Canada across its distribution center network.
