Milwaukee’s new M12 Rivet Tool

Milwaukee has announced the release of its new M12 Rivet Tool. It is the first cordless rivet tool designed for the professional trades. The tool uses advanced M12 technology which allows two times faster tool rivets and requires 65 per cent less muscle effort than regular hand tools. It uses a scotch yolk mechanism, which allows the tool to deliver a large amount of force in a more compact package. The tool is powered by M12 RedLithium batteries, that provide more work per charge and more work over pack life. The smaller capacity of the tool allow it to pop over (250) 4.8mm (3/16”) stainless steel rivets. The tool can be used on a range of materials including aluminum, steel, and stainless steel rivets. It uses RedLink Intelligence software for full-circle communication between the tool, battery, and charger to protect them from overloading, overheating, and over-discharging.
The tool is a part of 90+ solutions M12 battery system. Some of its features include; pull force of 8,896 newtons (2,000 lbs), stroke length of 20mm (0.8”), rivet sizes from 2.4mm – 4.8mm (3/32” – 3/16”), rivet material made from aluminum, steel and stainless steel, nose pieces of 2.4mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm & 4.8mm (3/32”, 1/8”, 5/32” & 3/16”), height of 27.3cm and a width of 6.68cm, and a weight of 4.54 lbs. There are no cords, it has a long motor life, and requires no manual strain. M12 Rivet Tool will be available in April 2018 and will include M12 Rivet Tool, two M12 RedLithium compact battery packs, charger, four nose pieces: 3/32”, 1/8”, 5/32” & 3/16”, belt hook and contractor bag.
