#PartsMatter campaign attracts hundreds of early supporters

Nearly 1,200 consumers and technicians have helped communicate the #PartsMatter message by sharing, via social media and the www.partsmatter.com website, photos and videos depicting unfortunate – and in some cases potentially dangerous – part failures.

Sponsored by Federal-Mogul Motorparts, owner of the ANCO, Champion, Fel-Pro, Moog, Wagner and other leading brands of replacement parts, #PartsMatter is designed to communicate the importance of selecting quality products for every automotive repair.

Participants are eligible to compete for Visa Prepaid Gift cards through an online sweepstakes and contest that continue through December 20, 2015.

“This campaign appeals both to consumers, who want to be certain their vehicles are in safe, reliable operating condition, and professional technicians and shop owners, who understand the potential risks associated with many of the lower quality parts that have entered the North American market,” said Laura Soave, senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer, Federal-Mogul Motorparts. “Our ultimate goal is to help educate consumers to understand that the parts and service choices they make can affect the safety and reliability of their vehicles.”

Federal-Mogul Motorparts has awarded Visa Prepaid Gift cards valued at $100 (USD) to each of three random weekly winners, 27 in total, who shared photos or videos of part “fails” during September and October. The company also has announced the September #PartsMatter grand-prize contest winner: Denise Johnson of Superior, Wis., who received a $500 Visa Prepaid Gift card.

To enter the contest, consumers and technicians must post a photo or video of a part failure or related vehicle problem via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Tumblr, along with two hashtags – #PartsMatter and #Entry. Participants can also enter via the www.partsmatter.com website.
