EYE SPY: At loose ends!

A customer brought a 2004 Sante Fe to Midas Bayfield in Barrie, Ont. recently for a pre-purchase inspection. Manager Jason Hurdle said it didn’t take the technicians long to discover the vehicle wasn’t worth the purchase price. “We explained that it was not safe and thread-chased the tie rod and installed a nut so it was safer for them to drive back to the dealer.”

  1. If it was truly sold from a dealer, then the customer must have chosen it from the “As is portion of the dealer lot.”

    I don’t believe in an ‘As Is’ department from any dealer. If it’s not safe, don’t even try to sell it.
    The general consumer assumes a registered business is responsible for their products and the courts do also.
    I’m really happy the boys at Midas demonstrated their responsibility to their valued customer.
    A tip of the hat to them.

  3. This vehicle is one pot hole away from possibly
    killing someone whoever installed the cotterpin
    and thought it was ok to drive is a criminal
