LIGHT SEES AROUND CORNERS

Hella’s DynaView automatically illuminates the area around corners. It comprises two different auxiliary headlamps (for right and left) as well as an electronic control unit that senses which direction the vehicle is turning. Each headlamp has two H1 halogen lamps and produces two different beam patterns. The upper area of the free-form reflector is responsible for long-range main beam light, directed forwards; the lower area illuminates the inside of the curve. In a right-hand curve the right-hand headlamp is activated; in a left-hand curve the left-hand headlamp activates.

FUEL PUMP FOR SMALL BLOCK MOPAR

Holley Performance Products’ new mechanical fuel pump for small block Mopar engines uses special high flow valves to move fuel at over 110 gallons per hour. Its 3-piece CNC machined, reinforced aluminum casting can accommodate various plumbing situations, is simple to install, and requires no fuel pressure regulator. Vibratory-polished aluminum castings give it a show shine as well.

NON-METAL BUMPER HAS CHROME-LIKE FINISH

Hendrickson’s Aero Bright bumper is the industry’s first mirror-finish non-metal bumper for Class 5-8 commercial vehicles, featuring durability and high impact resistance in a lightweight package. A full range of Aero Bright truck bumpers is expected by 2004.

OLD CAR PARTS GUIDE NOW ON CD-ROM

Garden of Speedin’s full line of 14 parts locating guides has now been released on CD-ROM. The guides are great for hobbyists restoring old GMs, Fords or Mopar cars and trucks. Each disk contains thousands of organized listings on where to find parts and services for specific vehicles, at lower cost than the original guides. The company plans to update the listings annually.

PERFORMANCE STRUTS

Rancho’s well-known stability and steering precision is now available to owners of strut-equipped light trucks and SUVs, with Rancho RSX Performance Struts. Similar to Rancho’s RSX Shock, the new struts feature maximum stability and control for a range of on- and off-road situations. The new RSX strut is available immediately for 1996-2001 4WD Nissan Pathfinder and 2002 Jeep Liberty.

C-CLIP AXLES FOR GM

Owners of early Camaros, Firebirds, Chevelles, and Novas can now obtain heavy-duty C-Clip axles from Mark Williams Enterprises, with the Masterline ML-200-788 direct bolt-in replacement axle. Designed for high performance street use, the axles are induction hardened, feature 100% machined shaft and precision hobbed splines, and can be used with open or Posi-traction type differentials.

HIGH TECH DIP STICK

Pro street and muscle car owners can now check their transmission fluid in style, with B&M Racing and Performance Products’ Hi Tek Dip Stick. Engineered for GM TH-350 and TH-400 transmissions, the dipstick features a polished aluminum handle and braided steel flexible tube for accurate readings and classy looks. The kit includes a flexible funnel for easier transmission fluid filling.

BEEFY-LOOKING GRILLE

Stull Industries has introduced the Beefy Billet Grille, with 1/4″ wide facings, twice as wide as a standard 1/8″ billet grille. Using 60610 T6 aluminum with a specially extruded “C” Channel design created by CAD/CAM technology, the unit has a tough look that looks great on today’s trucks and SUVs. ProTec sockets are great for tightening chrome-plated, painted, stainless steel, anodized aluminum, or powder-coated fasteners or fittings, since they feature a patented fibreglass composite inner liner that’s extremely gentle to all finishes, allowing the builder to torque fasteners to desired levels with complete protection. PAINT THICKNESS GAUGE

The Elcometer 312 is a paint thickness gauge designed for the automotive refinishing industry. Continual monitoring controls paint consumption and helps prevent several quality issues from arising, such as exceeding or not meeting the approved mil thickness specifications of the OEM. Rugged and economical, the fully portable 312 weighs only four ounces. Available as an integral or separate probe instrument, it has a simple two-step calibration adjustment feature. Powered by two AAA batteries, the 312 is available as both a Ferrous (to measure on steel) and Dual FNF (to measure on steel and aluminum) unit.
