Urgent Action Required: Canadian Right to Repair Bill Vote Imminent

Bill C-273, the “Right to Repair Bill,” is to be voted on by Members of Parliament on May 13, and members of the aftermarket are being asked to express their support to MPs.

The Automotive Industries Association of Canada is urging members of the Canadian automotive aftermarket to write to their Member of Parliament to build support for the bill, and make sure the aftermarket gains access to the tools and information it requires to remain competitive.

Go to http://www.righttorepair.ca and see the “Take Action” section for a new formatted letter designed to do this.

The first hour of debate for Bill C-273 took place on March 6th. Before this debate, more than 5,000 people took the initiative to write a letter to their Member of Parliament.

Many went so far as to meet with their MP. Members of the aftermarket can ensure that the importance Bill C-273 remains in the forefront when the vote takes place on May 13 by once again contacting their MP in this way.

A new letter has been posted on the “Take Action” section of the Right to Repair website for you to send to your Member of Parliament asking for their support of the passage of Bill C-273.

Members of the aftermarket as also encouraged to spread the word about Bill C-273 to co-workers, family and friends asking for their support of Right to Repair.
