Update: Delphi Signs Distribution Agreement with Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Names Representing Agencies

Delphi Product & Service Solutions, a division of Delphi Corporation, has announced a distribution partnership with Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc., its first comprehensive distribution deal.
On behalf of Delphi, the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance distribution group and its members will distribute Delphi products throughout North America via its 55-member warehouse distributors comprising 110 distribution centers. Alliance members do business under the Bumper-to-Bumper, Auto Value, and All Pro banners, although Bumper-to-Bumper outlets in Canada are part of USI-AGI Prairies Inc., managed by Uni-Select Inc.
This summer, the Alliance will begin to distribute Delphi’s complete product portfolio including fuel pumps, fuel injectors, oxygen sensors, Delphi Freedom batteries and thermal products, with other product lines added this fall. In addition, the Alliance will distribute Delphi’s suite of vehicle service and diagnostic tools, including the DS800 handheld wireless solution.
“We’ve partnered with the Alliance, a highly regarded company in the automotive aftermarket, to ensure that Delphi’s quality products and service diagnostics are available coast-to-coast,” said Ted Thacker, general director, Global Sales & Marketing. “As vehicles become increasingly complex, Delphi has a portfolio of OE quality parts and service diagnostics information to meet the demands of technicians and consumers.”
“Much of the Alliance’s leadership in the automotive aftermarket can be attributed to its history of providing both quality service and quality parts,” said Norm Young, North America sales director. “Delphi’s portfolio of high tech products and superior services will continue to support the Alliance’s success.”
“We are excited about the opportunity to partner with the world’s largest Original Equipment supplier, and recognize the importance of being able to offer our certified installer customers the ability to diagnose and repair the automobiles of the future,” said Dick Morgan, Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance president and chief executive officer. “Being Delphi’s first program group aftermarket customer is evidence that the Alliance is committed to the success of independent parts stores and installers,” Morgan said.
UPDATEA day after it announced the distribution with the Alliance, Delphi announced more than a dozen sales agents would be representing its products throughout North America. Those with responsibilities in Canada are: Grant Brothers Sales Limited; Tawas, Inc., servicing heavy-duty original equipment service and aftermarket programs primarily in Canada, Mexico and the United States; and Quality Battery Systems, for battery program group management primarily in Canada and the United States."Delphi’s aftermarket product offerings support our strategy to focus on electronics and electronically enhanced products and services as vehicles become more complex and electronics content in vehicles continues to increase," said Norm Young, North America sales director. "This top notch group of sales agents, which clearly understands Delphi’s value proposition and is positioned to support our customers, will ensure that Delphi’s products and services are available to our partner of choice distribution networks."
