Uni-Select Opens New Distribution Center

Uni-Select Inc. has announced the opening of its new Regional Distribution Center (RDC) in the Washington, D.C. area.

The new warehouse contains over 120,000 square feet of distribution space and is highly efficient. It will provide greater product range and availability and improved accuracy with its SAP warehouse management system. Over 40 new jobs were created to staff the facility which will service Uni-Select’s customers in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania. Customers in this region will have access to over $8,000,000 of inventory available on a next day basis.

The opening of this new location is part of the Corporation’s Action Plan unveiled on July 11, 2013 which was aimed at improving performance and delivering higher service rates. With this new warehouse, Uni-Select will consolidate the region’s distribution activities, improve its product availability and deliver a higher level of service to its customers in the region.
