UAP Signs Agreement with Uni-Select to Acquire the Palmar Truck Parts Network

UAP Inc. announced recently the entering into a binding agreement with Uni-Select Inc. and its subsidiary Palmar Inc. to acquire eighteen stores of its Palmar Truck Parts network. These new stores will allow UAP to pursue its growth strategy and strengthen its position as a leader of Canada’s aftermarket auto parts and truck and heavy vehicle parts industry. The transaction is expected to be closed by August 17, 2009.

The Palmar stores will gradually be integrated into the eighty-four Traction stores network and the three TW Distribution Centres of UAP Heavy Vehicle Parts Division. By adding these stores, UAP hopes to better serve its current and future customers from to a stronger presence in several regional markets, notably in Quebec, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces.
