IFS has signed a contract with KYB Manufacturing North America of Franklin, Ind., to provide IFS Applications business software and services.
IFS Applications, which is based on web and portal technology, offers enterprise application components used in manufacturing, supply chain management, customer relationship management, financials, engineering, maintenance and human resource administration.
KYB will implement IFS’ component-based software to support the manufacturing of suspension components. A make-to-order business, KYB will deploy IFS’ web-based components for manufacturing, distribution, financials, and e-business.
“As competition increases among tier-one automotive parts suppliers, it’s important for KYB to operate as lean as possible while continuing to provide the highest level of products,” said Takeshi Koshiyama, KYB chief financial officer. “We believe the Kanban/repetitive production and materials requirements planning modules from IFS will streamline administration and optimize production planning for greater cost-effectiveness.”
“As automotive manufacturers move from electronic data interchange to business-to-business internet-based collaboration, there is a greater demand for the IFS solution,” said Terje Vangbo, IFS North America president. “With the web- and portal-based technology in IFS Applications, the automotive companies get a fully integrated business solution that enables better collaboration with their suppliers and customers. The end result is leaner operations and an improved bottom line.”
