As part of Sun Country Highway’s (SCH) mission to Green Canada’s Highways, SCH, in collaboration with 11 progressive organizations and local governments, has launched the Sun Country Highway EV charging infrastructure throughout the western side of Ontario from London to Owen Sound making Ontario’s West Coast one of the most EV-friendly regions in Ontario.
All Sun Country Highway charging stations offer free charging, the electricity is provided by the host of the location. It costs as little as a stamp and an envelope to recharge the average vehicle on the road today.
“The addition of these EV Chargers to the region showcases a commitment to environmental, social and economic sustainability for these regions – this is a huge step forward to promote electric vehicles and to drive eco-tourism – these businesses and municipal governments are leading by example and will go far to prove the adage ‘If you build it, they will come’ said Christopher Misch, vice president Sun Country Highway.
Municipal leaders and representatives from Sun Country Highway, unveiled the following EV charging locations:
Komoka, municipality of Middlesex Center; Ailsa Craig,municipality of North Middlesex; Park Hill,municipality of North Middlesex; Grand Bend; Town of Goderich; Kincardine; Owen Sound,Best Western Inn; on The Bay, Town of Hanover; Wingham, municipality of North Huron; Clinton, municipality of Central Huron; Exeter, Crabby Joes Restaurant; London, Budweiser Gardens.
Sun Country Highway is a wholly Canadian owned company focused on creating Canada’s electric vehicle infrastructure. Its aim is to promote the adoption of clean energy transportation by Greening Canada’s Highways without the use of any public funding to date.
