Ontario Jobber Named One of Canada’s Best Managed Companies

NAPA Auto Parts associate Ideal Supply Company Ltd., of Listowel, Ont., has been honoured as one of Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies for 2007.

Ideal Supply Company, owned and operated by the MacDonald family since it was founded in 1926, operates two dozen branches in Southwestern Ontario. In addition to its successful auto parts business, the company also operates a thriving electrical distribution division, supplying electrical contractors and industrial facilities.

The national award is sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC Commercial Banking, National Post, and Queen’s School of Business.

The Best Managed program celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, and winning companies continue to raise the bar for Canadian business success, by showcasing their adaptability and sustainability.

“This award is a great honour for our company, and recognizes the dedication of our people to strong management principles and working as a team to look after our customers,” comments Ideal’s president and CEO, Tim MacDonald.

Established in 1993, the Canada’s 50 Best Managed Companies national awards program recognizes Canadian companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. Applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth.
