Lord Corporation Signs Vendor Partnership with Carstar Automotive Canada

Collision repair adhesive supplier Lord Corporation has signed a vendor partnership with Carstar Automotive Canada
Lord, maker of Fusor Automotive Repair Adhesives that collision repair facilities use for metal and composite bonding, says the agreement includes product supply as well as training and best-practices instruction.
Originally developed for Carstar U.S., the programs offer easily repeatable, quality procedures that bring consistency to repair operations involving adhesives and seam sealers. Additionally, those repair centers or locations concerned with earning or maintaining I-CAR Gold Class status can earn an I-CAR Gold Class point by attending the Fusor 001 hands-on training course.
“Lord Corporation’s Fusor products have long been the adhesive of choice by the OEMs,” said W. Larry Johns, Lord Fusor national manager consolidator & franchise Programs. “Fusor products can be found on vehicles made in North and South America, Europe and Asia. We are excited about the opportunity to serve Carstar and its growing organization.”
Founded in Hamilton, Ontario, Carstar Automotive Canada has grown from eight to more than 100 locations in 10 years. With more than 300 locations across North America, Carstar repairs approximately 1 in 20 vehicles in Canada 6,000 vehicles per month. While many Carstar stores already use Fusor products, these same adhesives as well as extensive training will now be available to Carstar franchisees as part of the preferred vendor program.
According to Larry Jefferies, executive vice-president of Carstar Automotive Canada, Carstar Canada has chosen to recommend the use the Fusor line for all of its adhesives, soft fascia repairs, and sealers because these products carry a lifetime warranty for the bond and corrosion resistance.
“Since Carstar is the only national collision repair franchise that offers a lifetime warranty, using Fusor products is a natural,” said Jefferies. “Repair quality is essential. Ongoing access to Fusor products and systems is one more step in the process of ensuring Carstar franchises remain best in class.”
