Fore! Ultimate Golf Pricing Could Sting

All-Wheel Drive Golf R Will Reach Dealers in Early 2012

Those waiting for what has been billed as the hottest hatch to hit Canadian showrooms in years had better save their pennies: the Golf R will be pushing $40k when it hits dealers in early 2012.
Priced from $39,650,the Golf R, based on the popular 5 door GTI model, will feature a high-output 4-cylinder turbocharged engine tuned to produce 256 horsepower. This, coupled with the six speed manual transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, will ensure spirited performance.
Golf R specific Talladega 18″ alloy wheels, high performance brakes and a lowered sport suspension will result in ride and control that is equally well-sorted.
The Golf R will come with unique styling both inside and out. An aggressive front fascia will provide the necessary intake for cooling and combustion, while side skirts and a rear diffuser will create a smooth wake. Inside, sport seats, a race-style steering wheel and colour-keyed interior trim items promise a stimulating and comfortable driving environment.
All cars will feature a sliding glass sunroof, leather trimmed seats and the RNS 510 touchscreen navigation system. A choice of five exterior colours will help personalize this limited-edition vehicle.
