Bosch Announces New Flagship Scan Tool, the KTS 670

Bosch released its latest scan tool, the new KTS 670 flagship product, which is the successor to the KTS 650 model.
“The KTS 670 portable diagnostic device now includes the high-performance dual-channel oscilloscope and dual-channel multimeter allowing the mechanic to evaluate both oxygen sensors in one screen if necessary. In addition, the new dual-channel multiplexer enables control of a diagnostic oscilloscope, facilitating analysis of the signals on the communication lines to the control unit,” said Ruediger Hirschmann, senior product manager for Bosch.
The new, simplified ‘Easy Connect’ adaptor system ensures that manufacturer-specific diagnostic connections are detected automatically and reliably by the control unit diagnostic software. The pins for communicating with the control unit are switched according to the adapter being used, thus avoiding faulty connections.
Another new feature of the KTS 670 is the integration of the ISO-CAN exchange adapter as an ‘Integrated Box.’ This switches the communication line to the relevant pin of the OBD diagnostic connector, increasing efficiency and preventing diagnostics errors.
The new ESI[tronic] ECU Complete package is available for the KTS 670. This package includes comprehensive European, Asian and Domestic (General Motors in 2010) Diagnostics Software.
Sturdy equipment with large touch screen is ideal for workshop use. A large, user-friendly touch screen on the new KTS 670 provides a high resolution and a large angle of vision, producing a clear display even when lighting conditions are unfavourable. The device is sturdy, impact- and water-resistant and features a practical carrying handle, and is powered either by separate batteries or the vehicle battery. This makes it suitable for portable use. The product comes complete with an external DVD drive.
