APPOINTMENTS (January 01, 2000)


Michel Maheux, executive vice-president of Uni-Select Inc., has announced the appointment of Brendan O’Brien to the position of vice-president, sales & marketing, and Gilles Michaud to the position of vice-president, product & marketing development, Automotive Canada. Brendan has held the position of general manager–Prairie Division for the past eight years. As part of his new mandate, he will be responsible for all marketing services. His responsibilities will include the implementation and development of marketing programs. In addition, he will manage the sales of the national accounts and provide support to the divisions in the recruitment of new members. Reporting to Brendan O’Brien, Gilles Michaud will be responsible for the proactive development of new products and markets.

Bob Stanbury, vice-president, Grant Brothers Sales Limited Tradition-al Division, has announced that Brad Chesney has joined as district manager for Northern Alberta. Brad will be based in the Edmonton area and brings 15 years of experience in the automotive aftermarket, most recently serving as regional manager for Dynaline Industries. Brad will service the territory north of Red Deer in Alberta and N.E. British Columbia.

CCI/Triad has promoted Jon Zieve to vice-president of automotive customer service. He has been with the company since 1980 and most recently served as regional director for the Great Lakes/Canadian region. Zieve will relocate from Indiana to CCI/Triad’s corporate headquarters in Austin, Tex., by the end of June.

V. William Hunt, chairman, president and CEO of Arvin Industries, Inc. has appointed William K. (Dan) Daniel president of the Arvin Replacement Products Business Group (ARP). In this capacity he will be responsible for ARP business activities worldwide and will report directly to Bill Hunt. Dan joined Arvin in 1987 as a management associate in the Arvin Management Development Program. Dan has progressed through positions of increasing responsibility in the ARP group such as business unit manager, vice president, sales, and most recently managing director, Arvin Replacement Products Europe.
