2015 Women’s Leadership Conference – You deserve to be here!

Building on the overwhelming success of the inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference in 2014, the 2015 Conference will be even bigger and better. In addition to celebrating visionary women and their remarkable leadership in non-traditional female careers, this conference will provide ample opportunity to network, learn and lead!

The conference will begin with a Welcome Reception and dinner on June 17th at the Chateau des Charmes and a full-day conference on June 18th at the beautiful Prince-of-Wales Hotel in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

“The Flip Side of the Coin” Panel Sessions

One of the highest rated sessions at the inaugural Women’s Leadership Conference was the panel session of female automotive professionals who discussed various topics that pose challenges to women in the automotive industry.

This year, we will once again feature a panel session of female automotive professionals who will share their career stories, what has influenced them in their careers, opportunities that are available as well as obstacles that they have been able to overcome.

In addition to the female panel, it’s important for attendees to hear from the “flip side of the coin” and this year’s conference will also feature a panel of men from all aspects of the industry who are willing to share their perspective on challenges and opportunities for women in the automotive industry.

Opening Keynote Speaker

Maureen J. Sabia – Chairman of the Board, Canadian Tire Corporation

As iconic as Canadian Tire, the company she oversees as the current Chairman of the Board, as well as being named as one of Canada’s 100 Most Influential Woman by the Women’s Executive Network, Maureen J. Sabia has agreed to share her thoughts and lessons learned on achieving professional success in today’s business world.

Marketing Yourself

Arlene Dickinson – CEO, Venture Communications and YouInc.com

Success is often taken for granted; few stop to think about where it came from, what shaped it, what trials were involved. In this refreshing business talk, keynote speaker Arlene Dickinson tells her story, providing a rare look into the making of one of Canada’s most powerful business women. Brimming with lessons in self-doubt and self-confidence, this refreshing talk is underscored by modesty, grit, and enormous heart.

Coaching Session: Suzannah Baum – Speak Up and Stand Out

Public speaking is the number one way to gain credibility as an expert in

your field, drive business, and stand out as a leader. However, many women hold themselves back from sharing their expertise for reasons ranging from fear of public speaking, lack of confidence, or uncertainty at how to create a truly compelling presentation. These common stumbling blocks no longer have to diminish your presentations or hold you back as a leader in your industry.

In this coaching session, Suzannah will cover three essential aspects of presentations: How to create structured and engaging content, deliver it with confidence, and maximize audience engagement. Whether you’re speaking to an audience of one person or to a larger group, this session will share useful information, entertaining stories and innovative strategies that will forever change your perspective on public speaking!

It’s always about the journey…

Cheryl Pounder – Gold Medal Champion

That’s the message women’s hockey champion Cheryl Pounder seeks to instill in every audience she speaks to. Believing that learning from our successes, as well as our failures, is the key to staying on the path towards excellence, Cheryl Pounder reminds audiences that true achievement is found on the way to winning gold. Cheryl’s enthusiastic presentations are inspirational and demonstrate the need for setting goals, remaining focused and overcoming adversity. Having played on six of Canada’s World Championship Hockey Teams and voted top defenseman at the 2002 Canadian Women’s Hockey National Championship, Cheryl’s greatest career accomplishments are her two Olympic gold medals from the Salt Lake City and Torino Olympic games.  In addition to her stellar hockey career, Cheryl has also been an in-studio analyst for TSN’s coverage of the last two Women’s Hockey World Championships.
