Opening with a Welcome Reception the evening of April 11th, ACE is a one day leadership conference being held on April 12th that provides a unique learning and networking experience for senior executives and next-level managers specifically focused to their career level. Known for being an event with high-calibre, professional speakers, the 2013 Aftermarket Conference for Executives is no exception!
This year’s stellar line-up of speakers willing to share their wisdom, knowledge and insights include:
One of Canada’s best known political figures – Jean Charest
Serving from 2003 to 2012, Jean Charest was the 29th Premier of Québec. One of Canada’s best known political figures, he was elected to the House of Commons in 1984. Having assumed several responsibilities within government, he was appointed in 1993, Minister of Industry and Deputy Prime Minister of Canada. In 1998, Jean Charest became Leader of the Québec Liberal Party. Under his leadership, Québec experienced a sustained period of economic prosperity with a stronger economic growth from 2008 to 2012, than the US, Europe and Canada. The Charest government has been a world leader on environmental and climate changes, having brought forward the first carbon levy in North America.
An award-winning journalist – Dan Gardner
Gardner is a columnist and senior writer with The Ottawa Citizen and The National Post. His writing has won or been nominated for every major Canadian award for newspaper journalism. Dan Gardner’s latest book, Future Babble, examines the dismal record of expert forecasts, explains why people and businesses keep falling for these modern-day fortune tellers. Gardner offers a fresh new perspective, not just on risk, but on the way people make decisions in the real world. His approach challenges many preconceptions and provides new ideas on how businesses can better prepare for the unpredictable future.
Cited as one of the most influential women in Canada – Dr. Sherry Cooper
The leader of a highly respected economics team, Dr. Cooper has recently retired as the Chief Economist of BMO Financial Group. She has repeatedly been called one of the most influential women in Canada and is in constant demand as a speaker and writer because of her ability to simplify and de-mystify the complex subjects of economics and finance. Dr. Cooper is frequently quoted by the media, and has published three books. She received the Lawrence Klein Award for U.S. forecasting accuracy in 2010, beating out a panel of 50 economists with her predictions for the four-year period from 2006 to 2009.
