2001: A Year to Remember, a Year to Forget – June

Good news of sorts for the automotive trade in Ontario led off news in June. The Ontario government pledged more than $80 million over five years toward skilled trades development. The AIA announced the release of a CD on collision repair careers, Specialty Sales & Marketing announced the creation of its Heavy-Duty Division, and the progress of ACDelco Technician of the Millennium competitors was tracked. Reports from the Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium provided a new perspective within the pages of the issue. Sadly, we also reported the death of Smokey Yunick, a unique personality in the world of motorsports and one-time contributor to our pages.
