GripEdge Tools has introduced a nine‑piece long metric hex key set designed for technicians who work with hex fasteners in tight, angled or obstructed spaces.
The set combines extra‑long hex keys with rounding prevention geometry and ball‑hex tips to improve grip, access and durability during demanding applications.
Each hex key is engineered to grip the flat faces of the fastener rather than the corners, helping reduce rounding on both intact and damaged fasteners. Straight‑cut tips are paired with ball‑hex ends that allow up to 20 degrees of pivot, enabling technicians to drive fasteners where direct alignment is not possible. The extended length provides added reach for recessed applications such as valve covers, transmission housings, suspension components, and confined engine bay areas.
The keys are constructed from S2 tool steel with a black manganese finish for corrosion resistance and long‑term durability. A round‑bar design with a knurled grip section improves handling in wet or oily conditions. Large laser‑etched markings and colour coding allow for quick size identification. The set is stored in a locking, folding wallet‑style holder with a secure slot design that allows for controlled one‑handed removal.
“Rounded hex fasteners cost technicians time and frustration every single day,” said Jared Kukucka, director of sales and marketing at GripEdge Tools. “This long metric hex key set was purpose‑built to solve that problem by delivering significantly more grip, even on damaged fasteners, making it a valuable solution for tight or obstructed workspaces.”
