Fuels that Esso customers know and trust are now TOP TIER certified

Imperial Oil today announced that all grades of Esso-branded gasolines – fuels long trusted by Esso customers – carry the TOP TIER certification.

The TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline program was developed by six of the world’s leading automakers – General Motors, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi.

“Imperial has always been a leader in the Canadian fuel industry and product quality of Esso-branded fuels is at the heart of our business,” said Simon Smith, vice-president and general manager, fuels marketing, Imperial Oil. “Now, our valued Esso customers have the added assurance of TOP TIER certification.”

All grades of Esso-branded gasoline – Esso Supreme, Esso Extra and Esso Regular – have long included cleaning agents that exceed government standards and that with regular use can help keep fuel injectors, intake valves and combustion chambers clean. 

Imperial believes Esso customers will value seeing the widely-recognized TOP TIER trademark next to all Esso-branded grades of gasoline.
