Welcome to Auto Service World’s Category Focus, looking at recent announcements from automotive aftermarket tool makers, parts manufacturers, and distributors.
Performance Rotors
Raybestos has expanded its specialty line of Performance Rotors, adding 60 new part numbers to cover even more popular performance applications.
Brake Parts Inc (BPI) says its Raybestos Performance Rotors are made with application-specific enhanced iron, which suppresses noise and keeps brakes running cool, quiet and vibration free.
Performance Rotors feature black fusion coated hats or Grey Fusion 4.0 coating for rust protection. Additionally, patented S-groove slot designs found on select applications allow for improved pedal feel.
“The Raybestos Performance line is specifically designed for demanding street performance drivers. The new rotor coverage includes truck, SUV and luxury car applications,” said product manager Kristin Grons. “In addition to Performance brake parts, the Raybestos Specialty line delivers outstanding stopping power for a variety of niche markets, including Police, School Bus, and Air Disc and Medium Duty Truck applications.”
Brake pads
Continental’s ATE Original Brake Pads are formulated to OE friction specifications and quality-built and tested to meet or exceed OE standards. ATE Original Disc Brake Pads deliver maximum braking power instantly without fade, squeal, or judder. Engineered for low heat transmission to prevent pedal failure, they’re equipped with underlayers and noise damping sheets to minimize noise during braking.

Rotor and pads
Brembo has added increased vehicle overage of its Xtra brake rotors and Low Met brake pads.
Brembo Xtra Rotors offer great looks combined with excellent stopping power. The additional 172-part numbers will cover over 38 million vehicles on the road. Brembo Xtra cross-drilled brake rotors are distinguished by cooling holes which combine a sporty look with brilliant performance to deliver effective braking in all conditions. Brembo Xtra rotors offer improved grip delivering superior stopping power as well as improved cooling of the whole brake system.
Brembo Low Met brake pads are constructed of 10-50 percent metal by weight creating a high-performance braking pad surface. Brembo Low-Met brake pads are distinguishable by their black backing plate (Brembo NAO, non-asbestos-organic, pads are recognized with a red backing plate).
