Tire Discounter Group acquires YKW Canada

Tire Discounter Group Inc. has announced the acquisition of Markham, Ont. based YKW Motorsports Canada. YKW Motorsports Canada is a factory direct importer and distributor of quality TUV European certified alloy wheels.  The acquisition of YKW Canada provides Tire Discounter Group exclusivity on three premium alloy wheel lines including the renowned Euro-Klasse wheel line.

Richard Bender, vice president business operations for Tire Discounter Group commented: “We are very excited about the acquisition of YKW Canada. It provides us with direct access to factory production in Malaysia and Thailand, which in turn will allow our dealers a stronger product offering to their customers. We view the tire and alloy wheel relationship very much as a ‘peanut butter and jam scenario’especially given the continued demand for winter tire and wheel packages as well as a continuing passion by customers to individualize their vehicles.”

During the transition, YKW will operate out of Tire Discounter’s recently opened GTA Distribution Centre in Markham, Ont. YKW wheel products will be available from all TDG warehouses in Ontario.

Tire Discounter Group operates distribution warehouses in Orangeville – Barrie – Hamilton and Markham GTA; in addition to private TDG branded distributors in North Bay and Sudbury.
