The University of the Aftermarket is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 Leadership 2.0 class. Aftermarket industry professionals are encouraged to reserve their spots soon, as seats are limited and each of the past four classes has sold out early. Session I will take place Sept. 11-16, 2011, on Northwood University’s Midland, Mich., campus. Participants will reconvene April 15-20, 2012, on the Northwood campus in West Palm Beach, Fla. The aftermarket’s signature executive development experience, Leadership 2.0 is designed for any mid-level professional working in any segment of the aftermarket, including manufacturing, retail operations, wholesale distributing, program group management, association management, and vehicle service operations. This intensive program is presented through significant financial support from the independent University of the Aftermarket Foundation.
“Leadership 2.0 is hands-down the most popular and effective executive development experience in the motor vehicle aftermarket. We once again anticipate record demand for seats as a growing number of industry organizations prepare key managers and other associates for exciting new leadership roles,” said University of the Aftermarket Director Brian Cruickshank, MAAP.
The Leadership 2.0 curriculum includes a blend of industry research and market analysis, discussion and debate on aftermarket challenges and competitive strategies, individual communication skills training, negotiations and conflict management, insight into supply chain solutions, and other industry topics. Participants collaborate between sessions on projects that tackle aftermarket-specific leadership challenges. Graduates of the program earn 7.0 continuing education units that can be applied toward their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations. In addition, the team project activity satisfies the “Research Paper” requirement of the AAP designation. Fees for the Leadership 2.0 program are intentionally kept low and cover participants’ room and board for both sessions.
