Porsche Cars Canada appoints new marketing director

Porsche Cars Canada Limited has appointed Alexander Schildt to the role of marketing director effective September 1, 2014. In his new role, Alexander will oversee the marketing department operations as well as be responsible for all aspects of product planning in Canada.

In his new role, Alexander will oversee the marketing department operations as well as be responsible for all aspects of product planning in Canada.

Alexander will come to Porsche Cars Canada by way of Porsche Motors China where he held the role of senior manager, product planning. After starting his career in product strategy at Mercedes-Benz in Germany, he joined at Porsche AG as first product manager for Panamera in 2005 and was later leading the product management team for Panamera, Cayenne and alternative propulsion systems.

He then moved on to Porsche Cars of America in Atlanta, Georgia, as product planning and market research manager. He holds a Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from the University of Applied Sciences in Esslingen, Germany.

Alexander will be succeeding Laurance Yap who held the position since November 2011 and decided to leave the company in June.

Porsche Cars Canada was formed as an independent subsidiary in April 2008. The company employs a team of 26 in sales, aftersales, finance, marketing, and public relations. Last calendar year, Porsche sold an unprecedented 3,680 units in Canada, up 23% over 2012.
