Monroe ‘Shocktober’ Savings Program Returns For Fall Car Maintenance Season

The vehicle repair season has arrived and the Monroe shocks and struts brand from Tenneco is celebrating it by bringing back its iconic “Shocktober” promotion, an exclusive offer to motorists replacing ride control components this fall.

“‘Shocktober’ is a great program: motorists who are concerned about ride control component replacement can have their vehicles inspected, and, if necessary, they can replace their ride control at a great savings,” said Sheryl Bomia, North American programs manager, Tenneco.

Available from September 1 through October 31, 2010, the Shocktober promotion will give consumers who purchase four qualifying Monroe Reflex or Sensa-Trac shocks and struts and Gas-Magnum shocks for the same vehicle, a mail-in rebate for the cost of one (1) unit. The promotion also is available for several Rancho products, including RS9000XL, QuickLIFT, and RS5000 shock absorbers.

The rebate does not include installation/labor costs and offer is good only on qualifying products. Rebate will be equal to the lowest cost unit (up to the current Monroe and/or Rancho suggested list price).

The fall promotion complements the Monroe brand’s 50,000-mile/80,000-kilometer ride control replacement campaign, which encourages consumers to replace worn shocks and struts at 50,000-miles/80,000-kilometers.

The 50,000-mile/80,000-kilometer ride control replacement recommendation was established by the Motorist Assurance Program, an independent organization committed to strengthening the relationship between vehicle owners and automotive service providers across North America. Monroe shocks and struts, backed by Tenneco’s Safe & Sound Guarantee, allow consumers to try qualifying Monroe products for up to 90 days. If they are not satisfied, consumers can return the qualifying products for a full refund of the product’s purchase price. (Plus labor expenses of up to $50 per axle. Restrictions apply. Rancho shocks are backed by the “Rancho Ride Guarantee,” a 90-day offer on RS9000XL shocks. The Ride Guarantee allows consumers to try RS9000XL shocks for up to 90 days, and, if dissatisfied, return the units for full refund of the product’s purchase price. (See for details and restrictions.)
