Delphi Product & Service Solutions announced Malcolm Sissmore will expand his current role as country director, Canada, to assume responsibility for leading sales efforts for telematics, diagnostics and training sales in North America effective July 1, 2012.
“Delphi’s OE engineering and manufacturing expertise enables us to deliver a robust aftermarket service solutions program well received by our customers,” said Lúcia Veiga Moretti, president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions. “With his technical background and extensive sales experience, Malcolm is a natural leader to coordinate the sales of telematics, diagnostics and training for Delphi Product & Service Solutions.”
Delphi’s telematics program was initially launched in the insurance industry and has grown over the past two years. Using a recently launched plug-in device with an advanced feature set, Delphi is now focused on making telematics a reality in the car care industry by working with key customers to develop innovative programs for repair shops. The business opportunity with telematics is significant for repair shops, as it moves them in the direction of social, relationship-based trends established with drivers through electronic connections to create loyalty and trust.
Delphi’s RepairPoint online service and diagnostic information product allows technicians to complete diagnoses and repairs faster and easier by accessing technical service bulletins, recall information, color wiring diagrams, component locations, vehicle specifications and repair procedures. A component of RepairPoint is AutoIQ, a diagnostic tool to help technicians explain why a repair is needed to drivers. It shows the features and functions of eight major vehicle systems, including over 80 modules with over 50 videos, in an easy to understand format
