Genuine Parts Company announces new president

Paul D. Donahue, previously executive vice president of Genuine Parts Company, has been tapped to lead the company as its seventh president in its 84-year history.


Paul D. Donahue has been elected to lead Genuine Parts Company as the company’s seventh president in its 84-year history.

The announcement was made today by Tom Gallagher, chairman, president and CEO of Genuine Parts Company.

Donahue, 55, was previously executive vice president of Genuine Parts Company. He also serves as president of the U.S. Automotive Parts Group.

According to Gallagher Donahue’s proven leadership, experience and success made him an excellent choice as the company’s next president.

Donahue will continue to serve as president of the U.S. Automotive Parts Group and will maintain his day-to-day responsibilities for the group. In addition, as GPC’s president, he will be more involved in the Company’s corporate-wide operations and initiatives.

Genuine Parts Company is a distributor of automotive replacement parts in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The company also distributes industrial replacement parts in the U.S., Canada and Mexico through its Motion Industries subsidiary. S.P. Richards Company, the Office Products Group, distributes business products nationwide in the U.S. and Canada. The Electrical/Electronic Group, EIS, Inc., distributes electrical and electronic components throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Genuine Parts Company had 2010 revenues of $11.2 billion.
