A pair of Canadians received scholarships from Auto Value to help pursue careers in the automotive aftermarket.
Jethro Camins (Auto Electric Service Ltd.) and Alexis Corr (Central Auto Parts Distributors) were two of the 25 recipients who received $1,000 for their academic pursuits. These scholarships are designed to help students to pursue careers in automotive service, business, engineering, and beyond — helping to ensure a skilled, passionate workforce for the future of the industry, a statement from Auto Value said.
“We are excited to recognize the accomplishments of these students and proud to invest in the future of our industry,” said Jim Holik, director of marketing of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Inc., program headquarters of Auto Value. “These scholarships help the next generation of industry professionals, and we are happy to recognize these deserving students as they continue their education.”
Applicants submitted essays, academic transcripts and letters of recommendation to be considered. Eligibility required students to be employees — or children of employees — at an Auto Value or Confidence Plus Certified Service Center. Applications were reviewed by the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, which selected recipients based on merit.
“Education opens doors, and we’re honoured to help open a few for these deserving recipients,” Holik added.
