Polestar has launched the Polestar 4 SUV, a new variant of its electric performance model that adds more cargo capacity, utility features and everyday usability. The company says the SUV version maintains the design, technology and driving characteristics of the Polestar 4 coupé while offering greater versatility for customers.
The Polestar 4 SUV features a redesigned rear end, straighter roofline and upright tailgate to increase cargo capacity. Total storage reaches 1,680 litres, including 530 litres measured to the seatbacks and 655 litres measured to the inner roof. Folding the rear seatbacks expands capacity to 1,665 litres.
Interior updates include increased headroom, a larger panoramic glass roof, optional electrochromic dimming, expanded ambient lighting themes and a Harman Kardon Premium Sound system. Sustainability-focused materials include bio‑attributed MicroTech, Tailored Knit upholstery made from 89 per cent recycled PET and chrome‑free Nappa leather.
Two powertrains are available. The Dual motor version delivers 400 kW, 686 Nm of torque and 0‑100 km/h acceleration in 3.9 seconds, with up to 600 km of WLTP range. The Rear motor variant provides 200 kW, 343 Nm of torque and up to 630 km of WLTP range. A 100 kWh battery is standard, supporting DC charging up to 200 kW.
The Performance pack adds recalibrated active dampers, Brembo brakes and 22‑inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero tires.
“Polestar 4 SUV builds on the dynamic foundation of the recently sharpened Polestar 4 coupé,” said Joakim Rydholm, Head of Driving Dynamics at Polestar. “It delivers the confidence, precision and driving engagement that Polestar customers expect.”
Vehicle‑to‑Load functionality enables the SUV to supply AC power to external devices up to 3.3 kW. A new Camping mode allows the parked vehicle to act as a climate‑controlled space with access to entertainment, lighting and vehicle controls. Google Gemini provides AI‑powered voice interactions and hands‑free productivity tools.
The Polestar 4 SUV has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the Polestar line‑up, with cradle‑to‑gate values of 21.1 tCO2e for Dual motor variants and 20.2 tCO2e for Rear motor versions. Pricing starts at EUR 57,900 for Rear motor models and EUR 65,900 for Dual motor versions.
