Snap-on adds Pass Thru Assistant+…

Snap-on adds Pass Thru Assistant+

Snap-on has launched the Pass Thru Assistant+, a new J2534 programming device that combines the remote, turn‑key assistance of the Pass Thru Assistant with the do‑it‑yourself capability of the Pass Thru Pro. The result is a single solution that allows automotive and collision repair technicians to choose between performing programming themselves or relying on OE‑trained specialists, depending on workload and comfort level.

“We understand that customers have different needs when it comes to flash programming and sometimes it’s hard to match those needs to one product or the other,” said Helen Cox, marketing and client services director, Snap-on Diagnostics. “With the new Pass Thru Assistant+, technicians have the best of both capabilities — they can do the programming themselves or have an OE-trained technician handle the job so they can stay productive in the bay.”

The Pass Thru Assistant+ offers a range of features designed to support modern vehicle programming and diagnostics. OE‑trained technicians can remotely perform J2534 flash programming for domestic, Asian, and European vehicles, with guaranteed results. Users also gain access to brand‑specific master technicians who can provide repair guidance for complex systems. Additional support includes OEM scan reporting and remote ADAS calibration performed with factory software. When connected to a PC and paired with OEM subscriptions, the device can also function as a stand‑alone J2534 vehicle communication interface.

“While J2534 programming can be a difficult task and not everyone wants to take on what can be complex and time-consuming, the Pass Thru Assistant+ can be used by any technician or shop, regardless of experience, to keep vehicles in-house and increase profits,” Cox said.
