Show Reports: Barton Brings Out the Crowds

Stephen Krieger, vice-president of Barton Auto Parts called it “Awesome.”

The Hamilton, Ont., jobber attracted some 1,500 visitors and exhibitor personnel to its annual trade show, which this year moved to a Spring date.

“The turnout was fantastic, because it was a year and a half since our last show,” said Krieger. “Plus the weather was perfect.” The area saw an unseasonably warm 30 degrees Celsius that Krieger says helped get people into the air conditioning state of mind. That translated into sales in that segment, and the addition of new exhibitors offering insurance and benefits packages for trade customers, and an e-commerce provider, also helped. “An altogether different spectrum,” he says.

The company also took the opportunity to announce that it will soon open a third store, on Hamilton Mountain. “This will give allow us to close the triangle of Stoney Creek, Hamilton and the mountain.” The store is slated to open in late May.

Stephen Krieger, vice-president of Barton Auto Parts, and his father, company founder Mort Krieger, took a moment out for a picture at their show. The Hamilton, Ont., jobber attracted 1,500 to its one-day event.
