Jobber of the Year Gord Davenport Passes Away

Gordon E. Davenport, founder of Gord Davenport Automotive Inc., and the 1994 Jobber News Jobber of the Year, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family Sunday.
Davenport, who was a strong supporter of a number of industry initiatives, was a well-respected member of the jobbing community.
The Jobber of the Year Award, formally the A.E. and E.J. Wadham Memorial Award, was presented to Davenport for his long-time support for his Orangeville, Ont., community, the success of his business, and his involvement with the automotive aftermarket industry.
Visitations will be held on Friday December 26, from 1pm to 5pm and 7pm to 9pm at Dods-McNair Funeral Home, located at 21 First Street at the corner of Second Avenue in Orangeville.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Anglican Church on First Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Headwaters Equipment Fund or Hospice Dufferin (Family Support Services during Bereavement).
