Eye Spy: Backwards lug nuts

Installing your own winter tires seems pretty straightforward.

Or so one would think!

This Toyota Echo was brought into Columbia Auto Service in Waterloo when the customer had enough with shaking he was experiencing while driving.

After a quick visual inspection, technician John Stortz saw the lug nuts were installed backwards and the steel wheel was not centered on the wheel hub.

“It felt like I was driving a car with square wheels!” John wrote. “I’m surprised he lasted this long before bringing it in.”
