Cadillac sales up, overall GM sales…

Cadillac sales up, overall GM sales down in March 2013

Cadillac had a 9 per cent increase in sales when compared to sales in March 2012. Overall, GM sales were down 10.9 per cent compared to last March.

Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac dealers delivered a total of 20,218 vehicles last month.

Cadillac has had a strong first quarter, with an increase of 6 per cent over the first three months of 2012.  The increase is driven largely by the Cadillac ATS, which was named North American Car of the Year in January.

March 2013 sales highlights:

  • Total Chevrolet Small, Compact & Mini cars up 10 per cent for the year
  • Buick truck sales are up 36 per cent for the year
  • Total Cadillac sales are up 27 per cent for the year
  • Total pickup sales were up 2 per cent for the month

"Sales of passenger cars are growing stronger as the Chevrolet Sonic, Cruze, Volt and Malibu all had sales increases in the first quarter of 2013. The all-new Chevrolet Impala joins the portfolio of Chevrolet cars in the coming weeks for families looking for a full-size sedan," said Marc Comeau, GM of Canada’s vice-president of sales, service and marketing.
