TIA launches scholarship to support tire industry workforce

The Tire Industry Association has introduced the Tire Industry Scholarship in partnership with the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, aiming to help students pursue education and training for careers in the tire and service sector.

TIA is contributing $5,000 to the program, which will provide financial support for students enrolled in higher education or trade programs related to tire service and repair. Bridgestone has matched TIA’s contribution and pledged an additional $5,000 annually for the next five years. Yokohama has also committed $10,000 to expand the scholarship fund.

“This scholarship reflects TIA’s ongoing commitment to education, workforce development, and the long-term success of the tire industry,” said Dick Gust, TIA’s CEO. “By partnering with the University of the Aftermarket Foundation, we’re helping to create a stronger pipeline of skilled professionals who will drive our industry forward.”

Applications for the Tire Industry Scholarship will be hosted on the University of the Aftermarket Foundation website and remain open through March 2026. Eligible applicants include students pursuing technical careers in tire service or related operations, as well as those planning careers in areas such as sales, marketing, engineering, supply chain and business administration. Some awards will also be available to employees of automotive and tire companies and their family members.

Candidates must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and list a TIA member company or individual in good standing on their application. For details, visit https://automotivescholarships.com/scholarships/the-tire-industry-association.
